Privacy policy
Cheer Ambassadors, LLC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN 99-4362458) that advocates for cheerleading athletes. We take the privacy of our community, and especially of children, seriously.
This website
cheerambassadors.org sets no tracking or advertising cookies and doesn't sell or share information about visitors.
To see which pages are useful, we count visits ourselves, with no outside analytics company. For each page view we keep the page, the site you came from, your country and state or region, the type of device and browser, and how long the page was open. We don't store your IP address and don't use cookies for this, so we can't tell who you are or follow you from day to day. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", you aren't counted at all. These records are kept for up to 400 days. The same applies to TryCheer.fun, StayToSave.org and Athlete of the Month.
Pages with a form use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from automated spam; Cloudflare processes technical details about your browser for that check, under its own privacy policy.
Cheer Showcase channel pages show the organizer's video player from YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode), Vimeo or Facebook. Facebook videos load only when you press play. Once a player loads, that service may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
Information you give us
When you contact us, donate, or use one of our programs, we use what you provide only to respond and to run that program.
- Contact form: your name, email, organization and message, used to reply.
- Donations: processed by PayPal under its own privacy policy; we receive the details needed to send your receipt, not your card or bank details.
- Cheer Calendar and Cheer Showcase: the event or channel details you ask us to publish, including the organizer's public contact email. Your own name and email are used for the review, updates and payment links and are not published. Optional attachments (promo materials, or proof of eligibility such as a 501(c)(3) determination letter) are seen only by our review team and are never published. Listing and channel fees are paid through PayPal. We also keep reports that anyone sends us about a listing or channel.
- Athlete of the Month: the nominator's name and email, and the athlete's name, age, team, city and state and story. For an athlete under 18, nothing is considered or published without a parent or guardian's permission, given by email. If an athlete is selected, we publish only what's described when permission is asked (for minors: first name and last initial, team, city and state, story and a photo the family chooses), and the family can ask us to edit or remove it at any time.
- TryCheer (trycheer.fun): the pass form asks only for the athlete's first name, a parent or guardian's email, a ZIP code and an age group, to email the pass code and suggest partner gyms nearby. We don't send your details to gyms; you choose which gym to contact. Pass requests are deleted after six months. Recommend a gym keeps the gym's details and your name, email and gym, used only to invite that gym, for up to 2 years. Report an accident or incident keeps the reporter's name, role, email and phone, the gym and what happened (including the athlete's age group and any injury or care); these are permanent safety records and are kept as long as safety and legal records require. Partner gyms are independent businesses with their own policies.
- Cheer Map (cheermap.org): listings are built from public information about programs (name, address, phone, website, social pages and a program contact email). We email programs about their own listings, and every email has an opt-out; opting out stops our emails and removes the program's listings. When someone claims or updates a listing we keep their name, email and role, and any logo, photos or page content they upload (nothing is published until our team approves it). Volunteers who help check listings have an account with their name and email and see only public listing details. Upgrade payments go through PayPal.
- Stay To Save: what you type into its forms, used only to answer you and run that program.
Who sees it
Only the Cheer Ambassadors team, and the service providers that help us run our sites (hosting, email delivery, Cloudflare and PayPal). We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We may share information with the appropriate authorities when a child's safety may be at risk, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it to run the program and to keep the records we're required to keep (for example, payment records), and then we delete it.
Children, and forms for adults
Our forms are designed to be completed by adults (parents, guardians, coaches and program staff), not by minors. If an athlete under 18 is involved, a parent or guardian should submit on their behalf. Every form asks you to confirm you're 18 or older.
Our programs are for families, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Program forms are for parents and guardians, and a nomination about a minor needs a parent or guardian's permission.
Sites this policy covers
This one policy covers cheerambassadors.org, Cheer Map (cheermap.org), TryCheer (trycheer.fun), Stay To Save (staytosave.org), Cheer Calendar, Cheer Showcase and Athlete of the Month. Cheer.Market has its own privacy policy on its site, and the Cheer.Community group on Facebook is covered by Facebook's.
